Ich verbringe meine Ferien in Deutschland, Nordrhein-Westfalen. Und da das Gute so nah liegt, besichtige ich auch alle schönen Museen und Rathausplätze in der Umgebung. Zuerst stand Bocholt auf dem Programm, mit dem TextilWerk, Forum für Textilkultur. Eine sehr schöne Anlage mit Arbeiterhäusern, Niederrheiner Hühnern im Garten und einer eindrucksvollen Werkhalle. Hier geht's jetzt um die Postkarten ;-) Leider gab es keine zu kaufen, doch hat man uns vier  mit Webmustern geschenkt.

On my way home, to my parents's house in Germany, I stopped in Bocholt where a friend lives. Great occasion to  visit the museum belonging to a former center of production of towels and kitchen cloths. 

The day was rather sunny, few people in the production hall and we had all the time to study the life of the workers. This past is not too far away from me, having been raised in the sixties and having known these old towels in our kitchen and on our farm.

Of course, I couldn't resist to look for cards! Unfortunately, they didn't sell one, but we had good luck as the lady at the reception offered four  cards, showing different patterns of the fabrics.  

J'ai passé plusieurs années à Bonn, ancienne capitale de la République Fédérale, et la Bundeshauptstadt est devenue Bundesstadt. Ce titre a été inventé exprès pour honorer la ville rhénane qui a accueilli le parlement et les ministères pendant les années de séparation d'avec la RDA. 

Aujourd'hui, j'ai reçu une belle carte, vintage et inventive, très jolie, un peu sucrée, elle me rend nostalgique. 

Ein bisschen wehmütig, aber Bonn hat sich , wie ich auch, verändert! Das sollte mich nicht davon abhalten, beim nächsten Aufenthalt bei meinen Eltern der Museumszeile einen Besuch abzustatten! 

Ich habe vor kurzem meinen Sohn in Rouen, Normandie,  besucht und natürlich auch Karten gekauft. Zwei davon haben mich  besonders zum Lächeln gebracht, ja  - ich mag diese Art von Selbstironie.  Meine Region, der Norden, liegt von Rouen 2 1/2 Stunden mit dem Zug  entfernt. 

Heute regnet es unablässig!

"In der Normandie regnet es nur zwei Mal in der Woche, ...  ein Mal 3 Tage, ein Mal 4 Tage lang!" 

"Man sei doch besser besoffen als dämlich, das dauert weniger lange!"  

A l'occasion d'une visite à Rouen, j'ai acheté deux cartes qui me faisaient sourire. Comme aujourd'hui, il pleut sans cesse, je peux les montrer  ... et j'ajoute que je ne bois pas mon Schnaps avec une tasse ;-) 

Quelle belle ville pour une promenade ce dimanche 18 novembre 2018. Nous avions rendez-vous pour l'installation d'une ligne de laine bleue,   en hommage aux soldats de la Première Guerre Mondiale et aux victimes partout dans le monde.  

Les remparts de Montreuil sont particulièrement belles sous le soleil. Le tour autour de la ville fait 3 km, la ligne tricotée a atteint 2,4 km. 

Nous avons visité le centre et l'Abbatiale avant de prendre un repas entre amies, accompagnées d'un body-guard souriant et aimable. 

"Le pot du Clape" , un restaurant très cozy, un service très rapide et agréable, une flamiche et une soupe succulentes. Parfait - en plus les cartes pour faire de la pub ♥

I was lucky to visit the museum of Schloss Lembeck , a small castle surrounded by water,   situated in Westphalia. During a nice and informative walk through the rooms with their special rich decoration and the beautiful garden  with old trees and amazing views on the castle, we had the chance to spend a   sunny day in autum! 

We had a young  guide  and  I learnt about the way transporting china , plates, cups and statues,  they put them  into butter barrels, such a funny and good idea ;-) 

Deep deception though because of their postcards!  Old cards, strange perspectives, pale colours ! Cards done without love , without conviction! 

I am persuaded that visitors would like to share the nice moment spent in the Castle of Lembeck, but no cards, no happiness !!

Here, I want to present  a great cupboard, really impressing by its volume and height. It is a pity that the card is ugly! 

One of my little nieces, five years old,  could have taken a better picture of this historical piece of furniture!!

Im Deutschen nannte man solch ein Möbelstück "Prahlhans", denn es diente nur zur Zurschaustellung des Reichtums.
